What Is AMBAR?

AMBAR is a clinical research study that looks at using an experimental plasma exchange as a possible future procedure for Alzheimer's disease. The study will look at the safety and effectiveness of using albumin, the investigational drug, in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease.

The study will include 364 patients at centers in Spain and the United States.

Who can take part in AMBAR?

You may be eligible to join AMBAR if you:

  • Are between 55 and 85 years old
  • Have been diagnosed with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease
  • Have received regular medication with acetylcholine esterase inhibitors for the past three months
  • Have an available and reliable caregiver
